Nanocomposites
Composite materials are a material made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties that, when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components. Nanocomposite materials have a huge potential in future technologies but the creation of optimized nanocomposites with controlled engineering of interfaces has been a challenge. We have worked on fabrication of nanoomposite materials with good performance and multifunctional attributes. We are particularly interested in optimizing the mechanical (strength, toughness), electrical and thermal properties of nanocomposites.
